Teacher Ross (or…I [it’s me!]) was born and grew up in Florida, the Sunshine State. I’ve lived in a few places throughout the United States and the world, including in New Orleans, India, Nepal, France, Vietnam, and Serbia.
I studied cultural anthropology in university, but I took classes in a variety of subjects. I did coursework in botany, mycology, French, philosophy, psychology, organic chemistry, etc.

Personal Interests
I have many, varied interests. I’ve had a passion for reading since I was a small child. I hope to nurture this interest in my students as well. My studies have inspired me to learn more and explore things from around the world, including: ! Quo sed fuit flexit et hic die solido, gloria?
- Food and eating habits
- Human-plant interaction
- History and cultural change
- Natural building techniques/materials
- Music and literature from around the world
I’ve found that building curriculum around a student’s interest encourages students' engagement with classes and the material. This, in turn, keeps the student excited for class. It also helps them to remember what we learned!
